Are you having trouble with your computer and don't really want to take it all apart to get it to the shop? Or perhaps, you just need a little assistance and think having a technician come to your home or office is just too much trouble. We have the answer for you with our "Remote" service. With your permission, we can connect to your computer "remotely" and take control of it just as if we were there in the room with you.  All you have to do is sit back and watch or go about your business while we work on your problem.

About Remote Service:

• Our Remote Service is web-based for on-demand, anywhere-to-anywhere support of PCs (MAC support coming soon!)
• With your permission, we can remotely access your computer in approximately 20 seconds or less, without pre-installing software (software option is also available)
• During the Remote Service Session we can adjust settings, install updates, clean pesky infections, reboot the computer and even work in safe mode if necessary.

Security:

We have partnered with LogMeIn, Inc. to make sure the connection between our technicians and your computer is secure with:

• End-to-end, 256-bit SSL encryption for compliance with HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley and other federal and local legislation
• Multi-level, permission-based access
• Auto-revocation of access rights when session is terminated
• MD5 Hash for enhanced security and traceability with file transfers
• Hosted at a leading, carrier-grade data center with restricted, secured access, redundant power, dual HVAC, fire detection systems, and 24 x 7 network monitoring
• You are always covered by Allegheny Computer's Privacy Policy when dealing with us
• You are also covered by LogMeIn, Inc. Privacy Policy in regards to this service

Requirements:

• Windows Vista, XP & Server 2003 (all including 64-bit); Windows 98, ME & 2000
• Apple Macintosh OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and 10.5 (Leopard) ***APPLE PRODUCTS NOT YET SUPPORTED***
• Broadband connectivity to the Internet (i.e., T1, cable modem, ISDN, or DSL)

Costs:

• $45.00 Per Hour ($45 Minimum) - billed in quarter hours

How it Works:

1. Call or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  us that you would like to set up an appointment for a remote session
2. We will provide you with an appointment time and you will provide us with billing information (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover Accepted)
3. At the agreed upon time, you will be able to connect to us by keying in the PIN code we issued for the session here or by downloading our "Remote Support Client" software (no PIN code needed)
4. You will be asked to agree to the connection and once you do, we will begin working on your problem
5. Upon completion, the connection will be closed and no further action can be taken without your permission. If you installed the "Remote Support Client" you can leave it on your computer for the next time you need service or simply uninstall it. Note: you do not need to install the "Remote Support Client" if you do not want to - just ask for a PIN code when you set up your appointment and click here or have us email you a link to click.

Notes:

"Remote Service" is a great tool but it cannot handle all types of computer problems.  If your computer is really slow or badly infected with viruses or malware, or you are hearing strange noises coming from your machine (clicking, grinding, etc.) it would be advisable to bring the computer directly to the shop or have us come out and check it for you.
